This is the shape into which the old Shape 56 bent billiard evolved in recent years. It's very similar to its classic predecessor, except that the bowl has become somewhat egg shaped and tapers toward the rim, and the shank is become stouter and tapers more quickly toward the bit.
This is a very nice example which has colored from careful smoking to a point where it resembles the early Tanshell finish. It has a surprisingly good and intricate blast, and an excellent handcut vulcanite taper bit.

Zitat: "The venerable 4102 is a Group 4 half bent billiard with a tapered bit and is considered by many to be the backbone of the Dunhill line up. The Amber Root stains (yes, a two application process) highlight an ample amount of flame grain that crackles up the bowl and, as if the Amber Root presentation wasn't sufficiently rich enough to start, Dunhill adds a military mount crafted from regal sterling! --Bear Graves"
