Dunhill 1953 Tanshell Canadian "ES"
From the first (or arguably the second) year of production of the Tanshell finish comes this striking ES Canadian. Note the very deep, craggy blast of the Sardinian briar that Dunhill specified for this finish, as well as the rich, dark old-style Tanshell color. The pipe is superbly cut, with a large billiard bowl canted forward on the refined and delicate oval shank, and fitted with a short, handcut vulcanite taper bit with ivory dot.
This pipe was well and carefully smoked by its previous owner; so whlie it has colored considerably (like a meerschaum), it remains in outstanding condition, with an especially clear blast on the rim and readable nomenclature. A rare piece and worthy of your careful consideration.
Gruss Arno
