Peterson c. 1940 Pre-Republic Bent Bulldog "Kapet"
The "Kapet" grade was a solid "work" pipe, more expensive than the entry-level Killarny, and lacking the fills often found in that grade. This example has surprisingly nice grain, with a mixture of flame grain and birdseye. It's also notably well cut, with very nice balance, a dramatic diamond shank, and a long, tapered bit with traditional "P" lip. This pipe has served its former owners well, and is a bit worse for the wear, with some dings to the beading.
But it remains a fine pipe, ready to serve you in delivering excellent smokes, especially with Virigina tobaccos, for which Peterson's have a great affinity.
Gruss Arno
